On the Basis of creativity
Within my upbringing existied the omnipresent notion of the relationship of
mankind to the natural world. Growing up I spent quite a lot of time touring
the mountains, valleys, and plains of the American west. This aspect of my
upbringing greatly influences my photography and its ultimate artform.
The primary artform discussed on this website is landscape photograhy which
remains ever relevant to the western United States and especialy the state of
Wyoming in the 21st century as the environmentalist movement has become a larger
player in political and public life. While my forrays into the world of landscape
photography are my most prominent artwork, they are far from the sole artform
which I immerse myself in with such examples being displayed right on this
very page!
Even from its very origins, the environmentalist movement and the world of
Landscape Photography became inseperable, with famous photographers like
William Henry Jackson being instrumental in the conservationalist movement.
Even in the new millenium, does Landscape Photography continue its existence
as a prolific photographic artform that maintains the window through which
the art world can gaze into the precious and dissappearing natural world.
